Can you believe Saturday is October already? Well we'll have October produce and comfort foods ready for you. This weekend we have our regular lineup (see full list below). Rowhouse Spirits rejoins us this weekend with a new run of Wendigo Gin! For foods we'll have Hank's Cinnamon Buns, The Fancy Crumb, Sazon2Go, Sorrentino Pasta+Provisions. See full list below! SCB Naturals and Pure Soul Inspirations are doing a fundraising collaborating for Breast Cancer Awareness Month! Visit SCB this weekend to check out their sets (and see flier below list of vendors for more information). Jack from Moishe's Pickles reports that this Saturday he'll have all the fan favorites including Jack’s Hot and Spicy Pickles and Sweet Red Bell Peppers. He'll also have Babka, both Cinnamon and Chocolate and Bagels and Bialy’s etc. Last week he did a raffle for a $15 coupon (Congratulations Maddy!) and this week he'll do another--come on down and try your luck! Jack is also looking for vending help--see flier below list of vendors. Farmer updates: Betty's Acres suggests you try their New Tomato Basil Chevre with Sorrentino's pasta and sauce: cook the pasta and mix in the sauce, then put the mixture in a baking dish and top with Bettys Acres Tomato Basil Chevre and bake until the cheese is soft and all is warm. A quick lasagna and what a great meal! McCann’s will have lots of apples (Cortland, Ginger Gold, Stamen, Golden Delicious, Fiji) as well as sweet potatoes, butternut squash, acorn squash, spaghetti squash, zucchini, cucumbers, spinach and more. Everwild Farm will have their mesclun mix and a wide variety of microgreens and shoots, fresh herbs, rainbow chard, scallions, zucchini, ginger and garlic. Temps are coming down this weekend to make for a very comfortable EFFM on Saturday, September 24th! It will be perfect weather for perusing early fall farmers' market produce. There will be apples! This weekend we have most of our regular lineup with a few sweet additions: Milk Jawn is back this weekend, and The Fancy Crumb is back with their cakes and cobblers. For prepared food and drink, Hank's Cinnamon Buns is back as well as Vitality Sea Moss, and Sazon2Go will be our Go2 for hot food. Jack from Moishe's Pickles says he'll have sweet peppers pack in stock, and Lakisha of SCB Naturals says she'll have her new fall soap line at the market this weekend. Farmer updates: Betty's Acres reports that they'll again have have cow milk in glass bottles (so bring your bottles back!) and they'll have chèevre in honey walnut and cranberry back in stock! Again we have excellent weather in store for our LARGEST EFFM TO DATE this Saturday (Sept. 17th) with our PAWSOME DAY. For those of you who don't know, this double-sized market is an annual event in EF that includes several pet-focused vendors and organizations. Bring out your pooch for a stroll this Saturday from 10am-2pm and check out our party! There will be face painting for the human children, photo ops with Daisy Dog and live music by Diane & Vik! See below for full list of vendors coming... East Falls Community Fridge will be collecting pet food to donate too, so if you have a picky pet, bring down food! Also know that TONIGHT (Thursday, Sept. 15th) there is an EF Beer Garden happening at the same place where we have the farmers market. That is from 6-10 and is another highly recommended fun event. Our regular farmers and food vendors will be there for Pawsome, and because it is also the 3rd Saturday of the month, Neil's Sharpening Service will be at the market ready to sharpen your dull knifes, scissors, etc. Mediterranean Delicacy also returns after a long hiatus with their delicious olive oils and olive products from their farm in Tunisia. Jack from Moishe's Pickles will have his famous pickles and baked items from Kossars in NYC. Finally, the America's Farmers Market Celebration contest is still collecting votes for a few more days--consider showing your love for the EFFM by voting in that nation-wide contest.
