What's Happening at the East Falls Farmers' Market It's Halloween weekend and we have an extra-large market coming this Saturday! It's all treats and no tricks with prepared food from Hank's Cinnamon Buns, Sazon2Go, and SmokeBreak BBQ. We'll have honey from Lynda's Lady's Secret Valley Apiary. Waffles Philly will be making fresh Liege Waffles at the market and online ordering is available for Liege Waffle dough balls so you can make Liege waffles at home on your own iron. He'll also have babka, bagels and bialys from Kossar's. Farmer updates: Betty's Acres will have their chèvre, feta, and fresh cow's milk, and McCann’s will have lots of apples (Cortland, Ginger Gold, Stamen, Golden Delicious, Fiji) as well as sweet potatoes, butternut squash, acorn squash, spaghetti squash, zucchini, cucumbers, spinach and PUMPKINS! Everwild Farm will have their Mesclun mix, arugula, spinach, a wide variety of microgreens and shoots, fresh herbs, rainbow chard, curly kale, bok choy, Napa cabbage, cherry radishes, sweet turnips, fennel, and flower bouquets! ...and we'll have music by Last Chance! Of course there'll be hot coffee at Nilaa and hot chocolate at Sazon! He'll also have Babka, both Cinnamon and Chocolate and Bagels and Bialy’s etc. Farmer updates: Betty's Acres suggests you try their New Tomato Basil Chevre with Sorrentino's pasta and sauce: cook the pasta and mix in the sauce, then put the mixture in a baking dish and top with Bettys Acres Tomato Basil Chevre and bake until the cheese is soft and all is warm. A quick lasagna and what a great meal!
